so my books arrived yesterday and I’m really pleased with them - loads more things I want to knit!! But then I realised that one of the patterns I really wanted wasn’t in this book but the Stitch and Bitch Nation book. Suppose I might have to buy that soon.
Trying to finish my transparent cardigan before the weekend so I can wear it then if it looks good. Got back and sides done

finished Branching Out. I actually really enjoyed doing this once I got past the first stage as it just seemed so far away from finishing. After I must have done about 8 repeats or so it really seemed to be coming along really well and so the end was in sight so to speak. This is a work in progress shot of it. I’ll take another pic after blocking and we’ll see if it changes it at all. I knit it with some Rowanspun dk wina really nice blue colour. Worked well for this scarf, I originally bought quite a few skeins to make a jumper with but I just could never get gauge with it and I got annoyed so flogged the untouched skeins. This was the one I’d already balled up.

Another wip is the Transparent Cardigan. I’m not sure if I’ll have enough yarn for this though so we’ll see how it goes. I got some really 80’s style mohair from the charity shop so am using that. Problem is it doesn’t state the yardage of it so I’m guessing really. Need to clarify a few bits of the pattern too as I don’t quite understand some of it or I may try and wing it. We’ll see!!

And I dunno when I’ll start this but I fancy making this sweater. I had some merino chunky lying about but not enough so I bought some more in a different colour so it will have to be stripey! Not sure if it will look ok or how to do the stripes (thick / thin??) but again we’ll see how it goes. Here’s the yarn:

I dunno how I did it, but I “accidentally” managed to buy myself some knitting books from Amazon yesterday!! So I now have :
Stitch n Bitch
Stitch n Bitch Design Journal
and
The Happy Hooker
all coming. And of course next I will need to get some crochet hooks as I don’t have any. Like I said “oops”
Photo’s coming!

not of projects really, although I am pretty rubbish at actually finishing stuff too, but at making up seams and finishing them off nicely. I’ve knit a really nice simple baby cardi for a friend and really want to finish it nice but it’s looking crap. So I’ve undone it and will try again another day. Should have just knit a hat or summat!
I’m also knitting Branching Out which is a lovely lace scarf. I’m about half done I reckon, I’ve done 15 repeats anyway. I suppose it will depend on if I get bored doing it and give up sooner, or unless the yarn runs out! I’m using some Rowanspun dk yarn I got last year. I sold most of it but had about a skein already wound into a ball so I’m using that. It’s looking good, might post a progress pic soon. I’d have done more by now except I gave it up last week while my FIL was up as I really need to be able to concentrate on it.

lol, can’t believe it was a year ago I started this blog! My obsessions can be so fickle!
So. What have I done? Not a lot to be honest. But I do have a couple of things to update.
I started the minisweater last year and was really excited about it. Loved knitting it, probably due to the yummy Addi circuars I bought which were well worth the money IMO. I ended up getting a bit disheartened after doing one sleeve and thinking it would be too tight and that really I was too fat for it. Anyway, I picked it up again the other week and decided I had to finish it and that I didn’t care if I was too fat for it! So here’s the results:

I’ve also done another hat. Nice easy work. Marcus didn’t like his hat I knitted from Colinette wool as it was too scratchy. I bought some browny wool that was really similar to the One Zero wool (but much cheaper - £2.25 for 225g!) and thought I’d try that. OH would have it if Marcus didn’t like it. He did though and it looks really good on him. No pics though.
Bought some more yarn lately too. I got some Noro Kureyon

to make these and also some self striping sock wool

from The Cledry Yarner. Never done socks before, but quite excited about the prospect! Sad probably!
It was the other day I actually wrote all this, just got round to posting the pics into the draft. I’ve very nearly finished the arm socks, only about another 10 rows to go. They look cool! I’ve also started knitting a baby cardigan in Cashmerino - I’m in love! What a gorgeous, gorgeous yarn!

Think I’ve un-moderated the comments. Sorry bout that, didn’t realise it did that by default!
Started my minisweater the other day which is coming along nicely. Probably about half done although last night I noticed I’d made a mistake on about the 9th row! Argh. Although it’s in the black so you can’t really notice it and tbh I’m not going to fret about it. Certainly not going to start over!
Trying to get together a list of what I want to knit and see what yarn I have for each project. So much to do and so little time!
Nikki, I’ll copy you that pattern if that’s ok. I’m knitting a sweater out of the book too so need it around.

The other day I went to Coldspring Mill near Bradford and as a result the yarn stash has increased quite a bit!
Picked up some unlabelled Debbie Bliss wool on cones. Only small amounts though, but I’m hoping to make a minisweater with them both.

That’s the black and blue big cones in the pic. I’ve already started on the black minisweater
Hoping I have enough wool for it though, but maybe I can just do shorter sleeves if I run out. The other bits were a tiny bit of light blue DB merino chunky which I think I’ll do a felted purse or something with and also some unknown beige yarn and a small ball of mohair that I managed to get for free as the nice man couldn’t be bothered to enter an amount for it!

This is some lovely Elsebeth Lavoid wool in a dark brown colour. It’s 50% Alpaca and 50% Merino and it’s lovely and soft. I’m going to make a long cardigan for me from a pattern in a Rowan magazine. If I find a pic I’ll post it.
And last but not least is some of this:

Which I think I’ll make a shawl with. I’d like to make the Clapotis but I’m not sure. Might do a test square to see how it knits up.
This scarf was made with Colinette Fandango yarn which is a cotton chenille. Is lovely wool, but I was getting fed up of the needles I had. Really could use Addi circulars for everything I think! I love how it turned out, and I’m even thinking about making another one at some point in a different colour
Recently discovered knitting again due to some of my friends doing it and also the purchase last year of some lovely Colinette wool for a hat. Since then I’ve had a few different projects on the go which I’ll blog here
